QIDI is compatible with Orca Slicer, but QIDI Studio understands it better
1.Why did QIDI choose to be compatible with Orca Slicer?
As a representative of open source slicing software, Orca Slicer has strong community support. It not only has compatibility with a wide range of machines, but also maintains a higher degree of exploration of new algorithms. It is an indispensable open source project in the community. QIDI guarantees compatibility with it to protect the user experience and freedom of choice. In addition, QIDI is also one of the earliest sponsors of Orca Slicer, and always hopes to contribute to the open source community.
QIDI engineers will regularly submit the latest configuration files of the printers to the Orca Slicer community to ensure that all Qidi high-speed 3D printers are compatible with Orca Slicer.
Users can connect QIDI 3D printers to Orca Slicer, complete slicing and send printing tasks directly through Orca Slicer, and realize data exchange of G_code and 3MF files between QIDI Studio and Orca Slicer.
2.Why did we develop QIDI Studio?
QIDI has always been pursuing innovation. We try to use more industrial intelligent technologies to transform consumer-grade 3D printers. We were the first to develop active chamber heating modules and resonance avoidance algorithms in high-speed 3D printers, aiming to solve the pain points encountered by users in actual use. When we want to use these technologies, we need to develop new slicing software to adapt to these new functions.
(1) Resonance Avoidance
Pain point scenario: When printing in high-speed mode, regular ripples or layer dislocations may appear on the surface of the model, which is a VFA phenomenon caused by mechanical resonance.
QIDI's solution: Users can set a setting for this problem in QIDI Studio. This setting reduces the speed of the outer wall to avoid the resonance area of the printer.
Operation Guide: In the "Speed" interface, check "Resonance avoidance" to take effect.

(2) Multiple Device Connection and Management
Pain point scenario: Orca Slicer cannot control multiple QIDI 3D printers for printing at the same time. When the studio needs to send print files to multiple QIDI printers in batches for printing, frequent printer switching will lead to low printing efficiency.
QIDI's solution: Developed a device management interface that can manage multiple devices at the same time, and allows sending the same slice file to the printer with one click.
Operation Guide:
① Enter the "Device" interface to connect and manage multiple printers.

② Enable multi-device management in Preferences.

③ Click "Slice Plate" and then click the arrow to the left of the "Print Plate" button. You can select "Send to Multi-device"

In the end:
The existence of QIDI Studio is not to make a simple skinned software or to replace Orca Slicer, but to provide QIDI users with a more efficient and worry-free choice. It not only retains the flexibility of the open source ecosystem, but also solves some pain points in real use through the deep optimization of QIDI engineers.
